StreetBond 150 across a new spray park in Maple Ridge: blue and orange colour fields around the water features, slip-resistant, installed July 2025.
A spray park surface is wet for most of the operating day, run across barefoot, and closed all winter. Colour is part of the experience, so a coating that fades, peels or gets slick fails on every count. The new spray park in Maple Ridge was coated in StreetBond 150 in July 2025: fields of blue and orange wrapping around the water features, with boulders and spray arches rising out of the surface.
StreetBond is a water-based acrylic pavement coating, published by its manufacturer for asphalt and concrete with an anti-skid aggregate for wet conditions, UV-stable colour and an 8+ year life cycle that is recoated rather than replaced. Those are the properties a spray pad needs: grip when wet, colour that holds under summer sun, and a surface that can be recoated in a later season rather than rebuilt.
The photographs show the pad before opening, with the blue arches and the orange tower standing over the fresh surface, and from above in July with the park full and the colour reading clearly against the concrete around it. A municipality planning a spray park should ask for StreetBond 150 across the whole pad, with the colour plan drawn around the features before the surface goes down.
